Cleverson C. Matiolli holds a Ph.D. in Genetics and Molecular Biology from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil. He developed his post-doctoral studies in the Centro de Biologia Molecular e Engenharia Genetica (CBMEG, Unicamp, Brazil) and the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA, Texas, US). He also worked as a research assistant at the University of California Davis (UC Davis). He published 10 scientific articles in journals. During his scientific career, Cleverson aimed to understand the role of sugar and hormone signaling, circadian clock entrainment, as well as their implications in growth, starch turnover, and biotic and abiotic stress responses. He is a researcher at Proteome Regulation in Plants (PRPlants - ITQB NOVA) laboratory, under the supervision of Isabel A. Abreu. He coordinates a team of three Ph.D. candidates and one master's student. Cleverson C. Matiolli combines his expertise in plant carbon metabolism with post-translational modifications (PTMs) regulation with genetic and physiological studies to dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying rice development and yield. His main goal is to create rice varieties with enhanced yield and stress tolerance. Current research lines are 1. Regulation of carbon and nitrogen metabolism in rice; 2. Regulation of rice grain filling under stress; 3. The interaction between the circadian oscillator and gibberellin signaling in rice; and 4. Determination of rice protein-protein interaction and co-expression networks driving rice fitness. He has published 14 articles in journals; Organized 1 event(s); Participated in 13 events; Co-supervise 3 Ph.D. theses); Co-supervise 1 MSc dissertation; Co-supervised 1 MSc dissertation; Has received 1 award; Participated as Ph.D. Student Fellow in 1 project; and as a Researcher in 7 projects.
