Guilherme de Abreu Jeremias

I hold a Bachelor's in Biology (grade: 16/20) and a Master's in Molecular and Cellular Biology (grade: 18/20), both awarded by the University of Aveiro (Portugal). More recently, I obtained a PhD in Biology from the University of Aveiro as well, with my thesis being focused on the development of Epigenetic Biomarkers in the aquatic model organism Daphnia magna (FCT grant ref. SFRH/BD/139076/2018; joint supervision by the University of Aveiro and University of Ghent, Belgium). In parallel, during the course of my PhD, I completed a Master's in Computational Statistics and Data Analysis (grade: 15/20) at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (Portugal). I am the first author of all the scientific studies I have participated in, which include 6 SCI papers and one book chapter. These translated into an H-Index of 5 (>150 citations) and most were published in high impact factor-Q1 journals in the last six years. From these, I highlight the publication of a review article (DOI: 10.1111/brv.12589) in the year 2020 in the scientific journal (Biological Reviews) yielding the highest impact factor in the Biology field in the years of 2020 and 2021, according to the Journal Citation Reports (Clarivate, 2022). Furthermore, I have been committed to the dissemination of the results of my work at scientific conferences and events as demonstrated by the related track-record that includes 12 oral presentations (8 as the presenting author) and 12 poster presentations (9 as the first author), as well as 11 lectures and talks in university classes and public schools. Besides, I participated as a team member in 1 European and 4 Portuguese research projects, provided teaching support in a curricular unit at the University of Aveiro, assisted in the supervision of graduation students, written 3 dissemination articles, and peer-reviewed 2 articles. Additionally, I have been a team member of student associations and participated in the organising committee of several high-profile scientific conferences and meetings.
