Fabrizio Esposito

Fabrizio Esposito é Professor Auxiliar de Direito Privado na NOVA School of Law, membro do NOVA Consumer Lab, e coordenador da MetaLawEcon network. Licenciou-se em Direito na Universidade de Bocconi em 2011. Depois de trabalhar durante dois anos em litígios civis e comerciais, foi admitido como investigador no Instituto Universitário Europeu, onde obteve um LLM em Comparative, European and International Law (2015) e o seu doutoramento em 2018, após defender a sua tese, que abre novas fronteiras na investigação sobre direito e economia. Antes de ingressar na NOVA School of Law, Fabrizio foi Pós-doutorando no Centro de Ética Edmond J. Safra da Universidade de Tel Aviv e Pós-doutorando na Universitè Catholique de Louvain, onde se juntou ao Projecto PROSECO. Ocupou cargos de visita na Universidade de Helsínquia e Pisa, e foi Global Visiting Fellow na UCLouvain. A sua investigação centra-se na relação entre direito privado, direito económico, direito da UE, economia e teoria jurídica, com particular ênfase no direito do consumidor e antitrust e mercados digitais. Está actualmente a trabalhar na personalização dos preços, na utilização de teorias do dano no direito do consumo, e publicará uma monografia mostrando como e porquê a investigação jurídica e económica deve estar unida na diversidade. Fabrizio publica regularmente em revistas internacionais tais como: European Review of Contract Law, Journal of Consumer Policy, European Journal of Risk Regulation, European Competition Journal. Co-editou dois volumes: Research Methods in Consumer Law (com H-W Micklitz e A-L Sibony; EE 2018) e Economics in Legal Reasoning (com P Cserne; Palgrave 2020). Foi responsável pela secção de teoria jurídica do European Journal of Legal Studies e escreve duas vezes por ano para a European Review of Contract Law sobre desenvolvimentos recentes no direito europeu dos contratos.
