Leandro Rodrigues (LR) obtained his bachelor's degree (honoured as the best student in the 2018/2019 academic year) and master's degree in Agronomic Engineering at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and is now attending the last year of his PhD in Agrarian Sciences at the same institution. LR is teaching topics related to Agronomy, Precision Agriculture (PA) and Agricultural Mechanisation, as an assistant lecturer, in three FCUP degrees. This experience is of the utmost relevance, fostering continuity in a robust academic career. LR holds the position of Research Assistant at Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science (INESC TEC), TEC4AGRO-FOOD, Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS), as a member of the multidisciplinary team of the Laboratory of Robotics and IoT for Smart Precision Agriculture and Forestry (TRIBE LAB), integrating several projects, such as OMICBOTS - High-Throughput Integrative Omic-Robots Platform for a Next Generation Physiology-based Precision Viticulture that aims to unravel how genotype, environment and management interactions shape grapevine physiological and metabolic traits. LR's research focuses on Digital Twin and Digital Phenotyping to support better agricultural practices. LR's research interests include agronomy and agricultural engineering topics mostly focused on PA and the integration of Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision in an agricultural context for crop monitoring and advanced phenotyping. Throughout his academic journey, held the role of Member of the FCUP Pedagogic Council and Member of the MSc Monitoring Commission. He participated in one INESC TEC project, aiding the development of a low-cost cartesian robot for phenotyping, the framework for his master's thesis entitled "PixelCropRobot, low-cost robotic prototype for phenotyping in vegetable crops" which was awarded a final grade of 19/20. LR is the author of one paper published in Agronomy (Q1, IF: 3.949 - 10.3390/agronomy13020463) and co-authored 4 scientific publications published in journals listed in JCR-WoS and Scopus. Among other outputs, it is worth mentioning a conference paper outlining the synergy between Crop Growth Models and DP (10.3390/IECAG2023-16276). LR is a member of IAAS Porto Comitee (International Association of Students of Agriculture) since 2017. In 2018, LR organise the International Conference of Youth in Agriculture. From 2019 to 2021 held the role of Director, during that period, he entered the "24H Agriculture by Syngenta" competition and was part of the team responsible for organising the "II Journey of Agronomic Engineering FCUP" event. He also participated in the International Forum of Agricultural Robotics 2020 and attended the Sparkle Curse Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Precision Agriculture by Universitá degli Studi di Firenze and the International Summer School Agricultural Robotics organised by PhenoRob, which allowed him to enhance his knowledge in the Agriculture 4.0 field. LR held the role of Content Manager for the digital network Agroportal, leveraging his awareness with the agricultural sector stakeholders. It was with great honour that LR was recognised as one of the winners of the Fraunhofer Portugal Challenge 2022 (MSc category). LR is active promoting the use of digital simulators in the pedagogical process, particularly, raising awareness of PA and through gamification and the Farming Simulator engine.
