Bernardo is an Assistant Professor at FEP (Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto), and researcher at CEF.UP (Center for Economics and Finance at University of Porto). Bernardo's Ph.D. is in Management (Finance) (2021) from the University of Porto. As a Ph.D student, Bernardo visited the Erasmus School of Economics (short-visit) and the European Central Bank (PhD traineeship). Bernardo's research focuses on banking and finance, and his current work addresses the topics of climate risk, sustainable finance and banking resilience. His joint research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals, including the European Journal of Finance. He is a member of the COST Action Group on "Fintech and Artificial Intelligence in Finance - Towards a transparent financial industry".
