My profile has combined the interaction with the transfer of knowledge to business system, the scientific research, teaching and managing responsibilities in various proportions, split into three periods. The first involves my trajectory as a grant holder in a research group at the U. of Vigo (Spain) since 1998, and from 2000 to 2011 as a part-time lecturer, including one year and a half as a grant holder in the CIS-Madera (Galician Research Center for Wooden Products), and my position as co-founder and manager of small consulting firm. This period entailed directly collaborating with more than 4000 firms and developing surveys and workshops to establish several industrial cluster initiatives in Galicia. In 2008, I became the coordinator of the research group, reporting directly to the Director. This group raised over 2 million euros in contracts from 1998-2011. In 2011, I started my second period after defending my PhD. I was a full-time lecturer occupying acting positions because the budgetary constrains of the Ministry prevented from making permanent hires. Anyway, I got a relevant track of papers published in JCR journals, which meant my accreditation for Associate Professor in 2015, the second top position in the Spanish academic scale. I was focused more on scientific outcomes, not strictly related to the knowledge of transfer. As a result, I was accredited as Full Professor (Chair) by the external entity ANECA in Spain in 2020. My third period started in September 2022. I became the Chair of Strategy and International Business. My colleagues nominated me as Chair of the Academic Commission of the Interuniversity Ph.D. Program in Economic Analyses and Business Strategy in September 2023, and I am the Coordinator of this Program at the U. of Vigo, a joint initiative with the U. of Santiago and the U. of A Coruña. I am also responsible for the Chapter on Internationalization integrated into the Zona Franca Chair, an initiative to divulge scientific knowledge among firms and society. During my 23 years as a University professor, I have supervised 4 PhD students who already defended their PhD dissertation, currently I supervise 8 PhD students in different stages of development, and I have supervised more than 40 final dissertations of undergraduate and Master students. From the funds raised in projects, I annualy allocate a certain amount for providing a grant to a PhD student I then mentor. In my career, I helped in the interaction with more than 1500 firms from the business system to evaluate their current situation and outlook for improving each business value chain, including four specific iterations on the binominal innovation-internationalization and the establishment of several industrial Cluster Initiatives in Galicia. Some of the divulgation publications had a circulation of more than 1000 copies. As examples of scientific contributions, I have two papers in Q1-SSCI, 3 star journals (doi: 10.1177/0266242618777792 and 10.1016/j.ibusrev.2022.101989). I co-authored with my mentee and his Master student another paper in a Q2-SSCI journal (10.1016/j.ibusrev.2022.101989), and with two of my former PhD students co-authored a best Conference paper in the international ACEDE-2024 Conference (http://hdl.handle.net/10400.22/23188). As an example of contributions to new ideas, I collaborated in developing a novel methodology for performing the content analysis of any research stream taking the form of literature review papers. This has yielded 6 papers published in JCR journals (e.g. in JWB, Q1-3stars in SSCI, doi: 10.1016/j.jwb.2016.05.001) and I developed a subject for PhD Programs that I lecture in foreign and local universities. This provides the picture of an intensive collaboration with the business system, which I incorporated into both the scientific research in which I collaborate and my teaching portfolio. My network of collaborations and quality led me to be invited as a member of the CIICESI in 2015.
