João Pedro Góis has a degree in Law from the University of Lisbon and a Masters in Lusophone Literature Studies from the University of Saint Joseph (Macau). He currently works as a legal adviser in a department of the Public Administration in Portugal and is a PhD candidate in the area of Teaching of Portuguese as a Foreign Language/Second Language. He researches and publishes in the fields of Portuguese Studies, Post-Colonial Studies and Gender Studies. Currently he is mainly researching on Portuguese Language and Portuguese Language Literature in East Timor, having recently published the book "IIdentity and Resistance of the Portuguese Language in East Timor" (2020).
