Célia T. Sousa (CTS) is specialized in nanoscience and nanotechnology and her interdisciplinary research has been mainly focused on the fabrication of nanostructures using self-assembling methods for biomedical and fuel cells technological applications. After completed her PhD degree in Physics - Nanotechnology at Porto University (UP) in 2011 and under the supervision of Prof. J.P. Araujo (UP) and Dr. J.G. Correia (ISOLDE-CERN), she was awarded a Post-Doc FCT mix-fellowship between IN-FIMUP and INA, Zaragoza University (Spain). Between 03/2013 and 03/2014, CTS received a contract as auxiliar researcher at CEMUP. CTS was also working as auxiliar professor at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) from 2013 to 2019. Since 2017, CTS has a FCT Investigator contract at Faculty of Sciences of Porto University. CTS has an h-factor of 23 and published 70 papers in international peer review journals and with over 1680 citations (scopus) and h=28, citations=2195 (Google scholar). She published in high impact factor journals like ACS Appl. Mateer. & Interfaces (8.8), Chem. Mater. (IF=9.9), Appl. Phys. Rev. (17.1), Energy Environ. Sci. (33.3). CTS is also author of 3 invited review articles, 5 book chapters and 12 proceedings. Her research led to 14 invited talks, 74 oral presentations and 89 posters in national and international conferences. Also, she is editor in 2 journals and guest editor of a special issue. She organized 2 conferences, 2 scientific meeting and several seminaries. During her research path, CTS has spent more than 2 year in an interdisciplinary research in several institutions: ISOLDE-CERN (Switzerland); INA (Spain), UCM (Spain), UNICAMP (Brasil) and UPV (Spain). She performed several short and long stays in highly competitive and multidisciplinary international laboratories such as CERN (8 stays), Hasylab-DESY (Germany), ELECTRA (Italy), CNRS (France), and Max-Plank Institute in Berlin (Germany). In 2016 she won 2 European projects as a Principal Researcher: RISE-734801 MAGNAMED and COST OC-2016-1-20999. She is now, principal research of 5 projects: 2 European and 3 National. Currently, CTS is the official supervisor of 3 PhD students. She already completed the supervision of 3 PhD and 8 master students. Since 2011, she leads the Self-assembling Nanofabrication IFIMUP Lab supervising a research team with 15 members (https://sites.google.com/site/materialsnm/). CTS was awarded with a PhD fellowship and a PostDoc FCT mix-fellowship, as well as scholarships for school attendance namely a Marie Curie Intra-European Fellowship. She also has 4 awards of best poster in international conferences, a paper with two awards (IOPselect article 2014 and Invited - Nanotechnology Lab Talk) and another Featured article at APR, AIP. Other: Regular referee of several International periodicals; Chairman at EDNano9 and EUROMAT2013; committee member of EDNano9 and Jury of several PhD and Master thesis.
