Catarina Mendonça (Ana Catarina Macedo Mendonça Hiipakka) obtained a doctoral degree in Psychology, specialization in Experimental Psychology and Cognitive Sciences, in 2012 by University of Minho, School of Psychology, with a thesis on Auditory Adaptation and Multissensory Perception. Prior to the doctoral degree, shed had obtained a Master's degree in 2007 in Psychology, specialization in Cognitive Sciences, and a Lincenciate degree in Psychology in 2005, both also from University do Minho, School of Psychology. She is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of the Azores, where she is currently the head of the Department of Psychology. She is also a Docent (Assistant Professor) at Aalto University. Catarina Mendonça published 21 articles in journals, 4 section(s) of books and a large number of papers in conference proceedings. She has received 3 awards. She has been Associate Editor at the International Journal of Neuroscience and she is currently an Associate Editor at the Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, section Perception. Catarina Mendonça has participated as PhD Student Fellow in 3 projects, as a Post-doc Fellow in 2 projects, and as Principal Investigator in 4 projects. She works in the field of Psychology, with emphasis on Human Cognition and Perception, and in the field of Acoustics, with emphasis in Audio Technology and Psychoacoustics. She is currently the head of the Auditory Neurocognition group at University of the Azores, and a member of NeuroCognition and Language group at the University of Porto. She is an integrated member of the Center for Psychology of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences, University of Porto.
