ME Biomedical Engineer specialized in Biomaterials, Rehabilitation and Biomechanics. I finished my Master in 2022 at University of Minho, in Braga. My Master's project focused on the development and design of optimized fibrous artificial scaffolds for tendon and ligament repair, healing and regeneration using the wetspinning technique. Currently, I am a researcher at Centre for Textile Science and Technology (2C2T) of the School of Engineering of Minho University since 2023. My research interests are focused in using sustainable chemistry for the development of smart and innovative materials. Namely, the development of natural based fibres (specially using electrospinning and wetspinning techniques) and in the synthesis of nanomaterials for use in the medical field. The path I have taken so far has allowed me to gain a solid background in polymer synthesis, particularly in optimizing polymeric formulations, perfecting wet and electrospinning techniques, development of biodegradable fibres, antimicrobial assays, degradation tests, as well as the production of non-woven fabrics, among others. I have a strong interest in technology and health, and I'm motivated by the never-ending cycle of attaining my goals while constantly trying to get better. I give every project my whole attention since I'm a perfectionist. I have no problem allowing new individuals into my space and exchanging ideas with them to get the greatest outcome for the project at hand.
