Raquel Hernando obtained her Ph.D. in Quaternary and Prehistory from Universitat Rovira i Virgili in December 2022. Her research has contributed to the development of innovative methodologies for the analysis of dental microwear using high magnification optical microscopy. She has also explored the potential of integrating dental texture analysis (DMTA) to reconstruct the diets of prehistoric human groups. Her expertise lies in the areas of Human Dental Microwear, Paleoanthropology, Diet Reconstruction, and Bioarchaeological Approaches. She is an accomplished researcher with a total of 20 scientific publications to her credit. This includes 12 journal articles, of which 9 have been published in high-impact SCI-SSCI journals. She has also authored 3 book chapters and 3 conference proceedings. Her contributions to these publications have been significant, as she has been the first/corresponding author in 11 of them, including 4 in Q1 JCR journals. Besides, she has presented her research in 18 international and national conferences, where she has been the first author in 12 of them. She has been involved in a total of 12 research projects, including 1 as an Invited Scientist Fellow and 11 as a Researcher member. In addition to her research activities, Raquel has demonstrated excellent teaching skills by designing and delivering practical classes for undergraduate and master's courses at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili. She has also been actively involved in scientific dissemination activities, recognizing the importance of engaging the wider society in scientific research.
