Fernando Alberto Nogueira da Rocha is Retired Assistant Professor with Habilitation in Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering, in 1975, and obtained, in 1984, a PhD degree in Chemical Engineering. Presently he develops his research within the Laboratory for Process Engineering, Environment, Biotechnology and Energy. His main interests are in the Separation Processes area, namely in mass and heat transfer processes, as crystallization, namely protein crystallization, microencapsulation by spray-drying and multiphase reactors. Fernando Rocha has cooperated with international and national Institutes and Universities. As scientific advisor, Fernando Rocha supervised 10 PhD theses and co supervised other 7. Presently he supervises 1 PhD thesis and co-supervises other 1 . Moreover, he has supervised or co supervised several Master theses and Postdoc researchers. Fernando Rocha participated in 12 projects financed by Portuguese Technology and Science Foundation, 6 of them as PI or institution PI. Presently he is participating in 2 projects. Fernando Rocha published 173 papers in international peer review journals, several book chapters, multiple conference papers, and 4 patents, two of them allowed. He has around 5860 citations, and h index of 40. Received 14 prizes and/or honors.
