Eliane Sebeika Rapchan. Completed Doctor Degree, supported by CNPq Grant, in Social Sciences in 2000/12/29 by State University of Campinas (IFCH-UNICAMP-Brazil) what increased her knowledge in anthropological and social theory with emphasis on addressing intellectual trajectories. Obtained Master Degree in Social Anthropology, supported by CNPq and FAPESP Grants, in 1994/03/16 by University of São Paulo (FFLCH-USP-Brazil) by developing a research about Movement of Landless Rural Workers (MST) what improved her knowledge about agrarian worlds, nature/culture relations and rural social movements. Since 2000 until now, Rapchan has developed research about nature/culture conceptions; relations between humans and other living beings, particularly primates, and the various levels of interactions between anthropological and biological knowledge (theoretical, historical, epistemological etc). As Pos-doctoral researcher she developed 2 projects at USP: one in Human Evolution at Human Evolutionary and Ecological Studies Laboratory (LEEH-IB) (2010-12), supported by Fundação Araucária Grant, and other in Dept of Experimental Psychology (IP-USP) (2004-05). These experiences, added to the coordination/participation in other 10 projects (as Principal Investigador or Invited Scientist Fellow, received support for funding of CNPq from 2001 to 2003), consolidated her career in dedicating to relations between humans and other primates focusing relations between anthropological as biological knowledge, chimpanzee cultures and impacts of primatological research over anthropological thought. This production is also deeply articulated with an ethnographic experience in rural social movements, relations between humans and other living beings (particularly chimpanzees, Capuchin monkeys and, more recently, elephants) in socio-cultural and ecological distinct contexts (rural communities and primatological research center in Brazilian Cerrado; primatological research center in Brazilian Atlantic Forest; urban green areas in medium-sized cities; zoo and chimpanzee sanctuary). These researches resulted in the publication of 27 articles in peer-viewed journals (5 International and 22 National), 2 books (one in partnership), 3 Event Annal Proceedings (2 International and 2 National) and 2 sections of books. Her publications in the last 20 years, as well as her participation in Events, invited as Conferencist, Lecturer or Debater, have been produced vibrant and critical debates about relations between anthropology and primatology, western knowledge and human-non human relations and concepts of chimpanzee cultures from the perspectives of sociocultural anthropology. Some of the manuscripts also address the various possible dimensions of the relationship between humans and non-humans, the theoretical, methodological, epistemological and ideological relationships between anthropology and biosciences and the influences of Darwinian thinking on the social sciences. These research interests also directly or indirectly influence the completed and ongoing guidance and co-guidance (scientific initiation, undergraduate and master's). The researcher is a member of the Brazilian Anthropology Association (ABA) and participates of Humans and Other Living Beings (HOLB) one of European Association of Anthropology's networks. She also participates in the following CNPq Research Group: the Anthropology Research Laboratory (LAPA-UEM) and the Non-Human Human Interfaces (INUMA-UFS). Rapchan works in the area of Social Sciences with emphasis on Sociology and Anthropology. She is postdoctoral researcher at Centre of Social Studies (CES) at University of Coimbra, Invited Researcher at the LAAAE (Laboratory of Archeology, Environmental and Evolutionary Anthropology) at University of São Paulo (USP) and professor in the Post-Graduate Program in Social Sciences at State University of Maringá (UEM).
