Diana Cláudia Pinto. She completed her Degree in Chemistry in the Field of Analytical Chemistry in July 1991 at the University of Aveiro. In July 1996, she obtained a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Aveiro specializing in Organic Chemistry. More recently, in March 2024, she received her habilitation. Since May 2024, she has been an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Aveiro and a member of the disciplinary group of Organic Chemistry. Since she entered her teaching career, she has been responsible for several Curricular Units in General Chemistry, Organic, and Biochemistry. Having taught courses in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Biomedical Sciences, but also in the Masters of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, and Doctoral Programs of Chemistry and Sustainable Chemistry. At the same time, she was always involved in the guidance of students in the Final Project of the Bachelor's Degree (more than 60), Master's (more than 25), and Ph.D. (12) theses. She also guided foreign graduate students (more than 15) who performed short-term internships (from 3 months to one year) in the Department of Chemistry of the University of Aveiro. Since its foundation date and until 2019, she has been a member of the Organic Chemistry Research Unit Natural and Agri-Food Products (QOPNA). Since January 2020, she has been an integrated member of the Associated Laboratory of Green Chemistry (LAQV-REQUIMTE), Aveiro polo, Natural Products & Chemistry group, and Bioactivity. Her interests cover several scientific areas, including organic synthesis, with particular importance in developing "environmentally friendly" methods and phytochemical studies involving establishing chemical profiles by GC- and UHPLC-MS (e.g., doi:10.1016/j.indcrop.2020.112988, doi:10.1002/cbdv.202100120, doi:10.1016/j.foodchem.2020.127191, doi:10.3390/ plants11050680, doi.org/10.1016/j.seppur.2020.117723, doi:10.1016/j.foodchem.2021.131214), and isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites (e.g., doi:10.3390/molecules23061285, doi:10.3390/medicines7060031, doi:10.1007/s11101-020-09666-9, doi:10.3390/foods10010087). Participate and/or participated as a researcher in 8 scientific projects (National and International). She is a reviewer in about 50 international journals covering various areas of Chemistry, such as Expert Opinion on Drug Discovery, Food Chemistry, Green Chemistry, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Planta Medica, and PLOS ONE, to name a few. She has been a reviewer of research projects for organizations such as the Romanian National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation, the Swiss National Science Foundation, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, The European Science Foundation ¿ Science Connect, National Science Centre Poland, ANI (National Innovation Agency) and belonging to the FCT Chemistry evaluation panel. She is a member of the Marine Drugs, Pharmaceuticals, and the Journal of Natural Medicines Research Editorial Board and guest editor of Pharmaceuticals, Molecules, Methods and Protocols and Medicines. She participated in two patented inventions and published over 190 articles (h-index 39) in specialized magazines and 24 book chapters. It has two books edited. She interacted with 143 collaborators(s) in her professional activities, co-authoring scientific works and research projects. She participated in several National and International scientific congresses, presenting more than 270 communications, of which about 20 were oral invited communications.
