Jane Dias is a PhD student in the Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) program at the University of Coimbra. She earned her BSc (2016) and MSc (2018) in Biomedical Sciences from Universidade da Beira Interior. She was awarded an FCT PhD fellowship and since October 2019, Jane has been a PhD fellow at the RNA & Infection Laboratory at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC/CIBB) at the University of Coimbra. Her PhD research focuses on Salmonella-host interactions, specifically on the functional characterization of microRNAs controlling Salmonella Typhimurium infection. Her research has resulted in the publication of one peer-reviewed paper as a co-first author and a manuscript as a first author. She has also presented her findings at national and international conferences through posters and oral presentations. Beyond her research, Jane has demonstrated engagement in the scientific community. She has organized scientific events, developed and presented innovative business ideas, and actively participated in research training groups for two years. Her expertise encompasses several biology areas, including Microbiology and Molecular Biology, MicroRNAs, Host-pathogen interactions, and High-content assays.
