Diogo do Espírito Santo Nogueira completed his MSc in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) in 2016, and a PhD in Bioengineering - Cell Therapies and Regenerative Medicine from IST in 2021. Since 2021, he is a Researcher at the Stem Cell Engineering Research Group (SCERG) of the Institute for Bioengineering and Biosciences (iBB), working with Vertical-Wheel bioreactors for expansion and cardiac differentiation of human pluripotent stem cells and on cellular agriculture of seafood, and, since 2024, an Invited Adjunt Professor at Instituto Superior de Engenharia de Lisboa (ISEL). He is also responsible for the social networks of the Department of Bioengineering of IST, SCERG and CellAgri Portugal - the Portuguese Association for Cellular Agriculture Development, as well as the maintenance of the SCERG website and the development, design and maintenance of the CellAgri Portugal website. Diogo is an author in 12 articles and 4 book chapters, with a total of 260 citations and an h-index of 9 (source: Research Gate), and has collaborated in 4 FCT-funded projects, covering different areas such as stem cell bioprocessing, bioprocess economic modelling, artificial intelligence/machine learning, computational fluid dynamics, decellularisation and electrical stimulation.
