  1. Stand factors related to sensory defects of cork planks. Wine bottle stoppers are the main bio-technological product obtained from cork. The 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (TCA) is considered the main responsible for “cork taint” in bottled wines. This study intent to prove the relation between TCA and mancha amarela-yellow spot (MA) and to identify field factors that can be related to the cork TCA presence. 2. Mycobiota associated with adults of red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus) from Cascais, Portugal. The red palm weevil (RPW), Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Dryophthoridae) is one of the most severe pests of various palm species in many regions of Asia, Africa and Europe. In Portugal RPW was first detected in August 2007 in the Algarve Region and then in other areas of the country. 3. Genome size estimates for six rust (Pucciniales) species. Inonotus rickii (Pat.) Reid: an important legnicolous basidiomycete in urban trees. Inonotus rickii is a basidiomycete that causes cankers and decay in several ornamental trees, and has been reported in Portugal since 2002. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the incidence of the disease caused by I. rickii on Celtis australis, in the community of Alcântara, Lisbon, where the European hackberry tree is the main sidewalk species. Disease incidence reached 19%, and affected. 2018. Ramos, Ana Paula; Caetano, Maria Filomena; Melo, Ireneia. https://revistas.rcaap.pt/index.php/rca/article/view/15616.

Rust fungi (Basidiomycota, Pucciniales), one of the largest groups of phytopathogenic organisms, are characterised by host specialisation, biotrophy, complex life cycles and enlarged genomes. 9. Nes. 2013. 12. 2008. Ramos,Ana Paula; Caetano,Maria Filomena; Melo,Ireneia. http://www.scielo.mec.pt/scielo.php?script=sci_arttext&pid=S0871-018X2008000200019.
