Florbela Samagaio has a degree in Sociology since 1992 from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, where she completed her Masters in Sociology ¿ Local Power, Development and Social Change. He received his PhD in 2014, at the same Faculty, in Sociology under the theme Territories, Inequalities and Social Change. He began his professional activity within the scope of professional training, having completed the Human Resources Development Designer Training, promoted by the Portuense Industrial Association in 1992. He was part of the JADE II European Training ¿ Young Development Agent promoted by Quaternaire Portugal in partnership with the Coordination Committee of the Northern Region of Portugal in 1995-1997. Between 1997 and 2000 she was a research fellow within the scope of the Praxis XXI Program in the Competitiveness and Social Exclusion Research Project: the Metropolitan Areas of Lisbon and Porto, at the Institute of Sociology of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (supported by FCT). He has been a teacher at Escola Superior de Educação Paula Frassinetti since 1997. He has taught courses in Social Education, Teatcher Training, Education and Teacher Training Complements. He was president of the Technical ¿ Scientific Council. He coordinates and teaches the Degree in Social Education and is a member of the Executive Committee of the Master's Degree in Community Intervention. She has been guiding and supervising curricular and professional internships in Social Education since 1999, in areas of social vulnerability in the context of poverty and social exclusion, namely in community intervention contexts, residential care homes for children and young people, the elderly and hospital contexts. (IPO). She is an integrated researcher at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Porto. Since 2019, he has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Institute of Sociology and, since 2021, the Ethics Committee of the same Institute. He has developed and published works in the areas of sociology of poverty and social exclusion, social policies, inequalities and education.
