Iana Lychko holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry (finished in 2016) and a Master's Degree in Biotechnology (finished in 2018) both from the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Currently, she is a PhD student at Biomolecular Engineering Lab in FCT-NOVA where her research focuses on the production of stimuli-responsive biomaterials. During her academic and professional routes, she has 5 peer-reviewed articles published in international journals and was a co-author of 8 oral and 12 poster communications, awarded with the Young Scientist Award and Best Poster award. She did several laboratory internships that allowed improve her critical thinking, self-determination skills and technical competencies. From January to October 2019 she held a position as an Auxiliary Researcher in Unidade de Ciências Biomoleculares Aplicadas (UCIBIO) and was involved in the Sea2See project (financed by FCT and ERDF). Also, in 2019, she was awarded with a PhD Studentship by Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia to proceed with her research. She works in the area of Natural sciences with an emphasis on molecular biology, protein engineering, protein expression, purification and characterization, as well as in development of stimuli-responsive biomaterials.
