Researcher at the Materials Research Center (CENIMAT), member of the associated laboratory i3N (Institute of Nanostructures, Nanomodeling and Nanofabrication) and Assiociate Professor in the Department of Materials Science, Faculty of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa DCM-FCT/UNL. He is a member of the Materials for Optoelectronics and Nanotechnologies Research Group at CENIMAT|i3N working in the area of sensors, materials for electronics, impedance measurements, microfluidics, biossensors and e-skin devices. Participated and/or participated in a total of 17 scientific research projects, national and European, two of which were aimed at scientific dissemination. He is currently local coordinator of 3 ongoing projects (one of the CT foundation, a PT2020 mobilizer and one in co-promotion of PT2020) and as the team's participation in 3 more projects (one European, one from the national science and tecnology foundation and one PT2020). In projects already completed, he was principal investigator of an EIT Raw Materials project for scientific dissemination and training of young people, had a local coordination of a national project and participated as a team member in 9 more projects (2 European). He has experience as PhD supervisor with 2 students concluding the PhD in the last 3 years and more than 20 master students supervisions. He is the author of 54 ISI/WoS indexed articles with more than 2200 citations and h index = 23.
