Raquel Alexandra dos Santos Fernandes

Raquel graduated in Geography from Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon (IGOT) and did her Masters in Physical Geography and Spatial Planning in the same institution. In 2021 she was granted with the MIT/FCT doctoral fellowship to develop a PhD research focused on the study of the impacts of climate change, presence of invasive flora and land use change on the climate regulation and carbon storage services of organic soils in Portugal. She's an Associate Researcher in the Centre of Geographical Studies (CEG) of the University of Lisbon, integrated in the RISKam research Group, and a collaborator of the Greifswald Mire Center at the University of Greifswald (Germany), partners of the IPCC, FAO, IUCN, among others (www.greifswaldmoor.de/persons.html).
