After finishing my undergraduate studies in Psychology with a minor degree in Sociology at Koç University, Istanbul in 2019, I started the Global MINDS European Master in the Psychology of Global Mobility, Social Inclusion and Diversity in Society. I concluded my master studies in Portugal (ISCTE-IUL) and Norway (UiO), with the master thesis focusing on gendered acculturation experiences of migrant women from Turkey across Europe. Working a year at the IOM - UN Migration with irregular migrants in Turkey's northwest border as a Social worker after my master studies, I started my Phd studies at ISCTE-IUL, Portugal in 2022, with the funding from FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia). My research interests mainly are in the area of migration, gender/sexuality, culture and power with a specific focus on migrant women's experiences of identity, belonging and meaning making processes, and their potential for collective action and social change in local and transnational contexts.
