Sara Pardilhó has a MSc Degree in Environmental Engineering since 2016 (Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto - FEUP) and a PhD in Environmental Engineering since 2023 (FEUP; FCT PhD scholarship awarded in 2018). Her PhD aimed the evaluation of an integrated marine macroalgae waste recovery solution to obtain value-added products, renewable energy (biogas and bioethanol), and organic soil amendments. During the PhD, Sara Pardilhó established several collaborations with other Portuguese researchers (LSRE-LCM, REQUIMTE/LAQV; MARE; ARNET; CERNAS). She is also an Occupational Health and Safety Technician (CAP VI certification, 2017). Currently, SP is a post-doc research fellow at LSRE-LCM under the Project PhotoBioValue (PTDC/BTA-BTA/2902/2021), related with microalgae valorisation considering changes in the biomass composition resulting from the culture conditions and stress effects, being also researcher at the Associate Laboratory in Chemical Engineering (ALiCE-FEUP). Since 2019 she is an Invited Professor at the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department (FEUP-DEMM). She supported the research activities of an initiation fellow (BSc student), mentored 1 BSc student, and co-supervised a MSc student thesis in the waste management and renewable energy production fields. She is the author of 20 publications (14 as first author), including chapters in books, articles in international peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and technical reports. She was editor of 2 book of abstracts of a congress. Her work was discussed in 5 international meetings (4 oral and 1 poster communication). Sara Pardilhó was also reviewer for international scientific journals (in the algae and energy fields). She has participated in financed projects on waste management, for public and private companies, from which the following examples are highlighted: "Study on the definition of minimum rates of incorporation of recycled materials in packaging", financed by APA and DGAE; "Advantages and Disadvantages of Using Single Use versus Reusable Packaging", financed by APED. Her main scientific interests include the obtention of value-added products and renewable energy production from alternative and sustainable feedstocks, waste management and circular economy.
