Jorge Viana is currently a PhD student in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Doctoral Program at the Applied Molecular Biosciences Unit (UCIBIO) of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. He has a master's degree in Materials Engineering and experience in the development of cellulosic biopolymer composites, in the production of bacterial biopolymers, and in the characterization of polymers. The focus of his PhD thesis is the development of PHBV-based composites to mimic the properties of biologically produced PHBVs with a specific HV content. He participated in 2 research projects (1 EU and 1 national), and his work was disseminated in 1 conference abstract, 1 conference poster, and 2 oral presentations. He also took part in the organization of an international conference (ILCC'22) and a museum exhibition.
