Bruna Amarílis da Palma e Silva holds a MSc and a PhD in Civil Engineering (Construction) from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, Portugal. She is a researcher at CERIS research unit, IST, since 2012, where she works in the areas of Sustainable Construction Materials and Conservation and Restoration of Built Heritage. She defended her PhD thesis in 2021, which focused on the study of lime mortars modified with admixtures for restoration works. She won an award for best PhD thesis in the areas of Rehabilitation and Heritage. Since completing her PhD, Bruna has worked as a postdoctoral contracted researcher in project RInoPolyCrete (Recycled Inorganic Polymer Concrete: Towards a cement-free and completely recycled concrete) and in project GreenMAP (Green multi-action products for the sustainable conservation of historic porous building stones). She was a team member of 2 other projects. She mentored several MSc and PhD students and supervised 3 MSc theses. Prior to her PhD, she was a research fellow in 4 projects, 2 of which in collaboration with a world-renowned cultural heritage management entity (Parques de Sintra, Monte da Lua, S.A.), for whom she also carried out consultancy work. She lectured Structure and Behaviour of Materials in a technical master course for civil engineers at IST, and received an honour diploma in Valorpneu Innovation Award. Apart from this, she was guest editor of the Special Issue "Lime-based materials for historic buildings" of Buildings journal, editor of the CERIS newsletter and member of the organizing committee of 3 international conferences and 1 seminar. She also regularly acts as referee of scientific publications. To date, Bruna has published 15 papers in international peer-reviewed journals and 22 papers in conference proceedings. At national and international scientific meetings, she presented 14 oral communications. Her publications have an h-index of 11 and 585 citations according to Scopus (727 citations according to Google Scholar). In her professional activities, she interacted with 20 collaborators in the co-authorship of scientific publications.
