Isabel Martins de Almeida. Pharm D, Msc, PhD. Assistant professor with Habilitation at the Department of Drug Sciences, Laboratory of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto (FFUP). Integrated Researcher of the UCIBIO and i4HB research units and collaborator researcher of CIBB. Member of the scientific committee of the Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences (FFUP). My major research interests and areas of expertise are: Cosmetology: pre-formulation and formulation of cosmetic products with new active compounds; sustainability on the cosmetic product life cycle, phototoxicity, photostability and photostabilization strategies, health literacy about cosmetic products, trends of active ingredients in cosmetic formulations. Pharmaceutical technology: Compounding pharmaceutical formulations; medication adherence in dermatology, therapeutic solutions for rare dermatological diseases and Patient-centric design of pharmaceutical formulations. Creator of a website for the promotion of health literacy about cosmetic products "portalinfocosmeticos.pt". Supervisor of 23 MSc and 8 PhD students. Published 95 peer-reviewed original articles indexed in Medline/ISI/SCOPUS) and 5 book chapters and presented more than 180 communications at scientific meetings. My publications have earned 2969 citations in Google Scholar (h-index of 30) and 2498 in SCOPUS (h-index of 26). In the last 5 years, I have participated in 7 funded research projects (3 by FCT/FEDER) including one project as principal investigator (FEDER) . I acted as reviewer in more than 30 scientific journals, and I am a member of the editorial board of "Cosmetics" and "Pharmaceuticals" journals. I was awarded two Pedagogic Innovation prizes in 2020 and 2022 at UPorto. I am a member of IPQ CT 047 Commission "Cosmetic Products".
