Cristina Matos Silva is a Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon, and the Leader of the Green Infrastructures Group (GI Group) of IST, founded in 2017 and hosted by the Research Center of Civil Engineering Research and Innovation for Sustainability (CERIS). Her research interests focus Sustainability in Construction, namely planning and designing of Green Roofs and Living Walls, as well as associated systems like Rainwater Harvesting Systems. She also focusses modelling of Ecosystem Services, namely in a Mediterranean climate, their Economic Evaluation and associated Urban Planning. She is a founding member of the Portuguese Green Roof Association and a Qualified Expert of the Portuguese National Agency for Energy and Water Efficiency. Cristina holds a PhD in and a Diploma in Civil Engineering. She co-authored more than 45 peer-reviewed papers, published 1 book chapter (international) and 3 books (national), is Principal Investigator of 1 International Project, 3 National Research Projects, and integrates other International and National Research Projects as team member. Her supervision activities include Post-doc researchers, PhD students and MSc thesis. She has done more than 80 oral presentations at national and international conferences, as well as several technical seminars and training courses.
