Duarte António Fernandes Santos

Duarte Santos gathered a Biology degree (FCTUC, 2016), followed by a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Vegetal Biotechnology (FCTUC, 2018). Currently, he is a PhD student in Biosciences from University of Coimbra. He was a research member of two Research projects: PRATYTECH - Biotechnology approaches towards the control of the root lesion nematode Pratylenchus penetrans and KnowLuci - The threat of the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne luci: pathogenicity and diagnostics. He has 5 articles published and 7 posters communications presented in a specialty conference. His research activities include: Detection and identification of root-knot nematodes (RKN) in Portugal; Molecular phylogeny of RKN; Management of RKN; Resistance and host-response of horticultural crops to RKN.
