V. Ferreira graduated in Chemistry from the University of Porto (2002) and completed a MSc degree in Applied Electrochemistry ¿ Corrosão e Protecção de Materiais from the University of Lisboa (2006). In 2011 she was awarded a PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from the same University. Since then, she is in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department of FCUL, where she was a post-doctoral researcher until 2019 and a junior researcher afterwards, in the scope of DL 57/2016 recruitment. V. Ferreira is author of 29 scientific publications, of which 23 are in international journals with refereeing, 1 is in a national journal, 2 are theses (1 MSc and 1 PhD), 1 is a science dissemination book chapter and 2 are international meeting abstracts. She is 1st author in 15 of her 23 papers and is the corresponding author of 4 of those. A total of 16, of her publications, are published in the 1st quartile (Q1) journals, of which 4 are in the TOP 10%, and 6 publications are in the 2nd quartile (Q2) journals. V. Ferreira has been cited 414 times corresponding to an h index of 13 (06/02/2024, Scopus). Her work has been presented in 48 international conferences with 29 oral communications (3 invited) and 17 posters, and in 15 national meetings with 8 oral communications and 16 posters. V. Ferreira was a research fellow in 3 projects funded by FCT (2003-06, 2007 and 2011) and also during her PhD (2007-2011) and post-doctoral research (2012-14 and 2015-2019). In 2014/15 she had a research contract at the University of Leicester; United Kingdom. In 2021/22 she had another contract at Carmona S.A., a waste treatment and management company in Portugal, as analytical laboratory manager. From 2017 to 2019 she was an assistant professor (0%) at FCUL and from 2017 to 2024 she taught Chemistry, Fundamental Chemistry, Electrochemistry and Inorganic Chemistry at FCUL. Her research activity has been focused on surface modification, namely using electrochemical deposition methods, and on nanomaterials synthesis. She became a proficient user of electrochemical-based techniques, as well as on basic and advanced structural, morphological and optical surfaces characterisation methods, including XRD, SEM and UV-vis, IR and reflectance spectroscopies, neutrons reflectometry, etc. V. Ferreira has been testing those surfaces for applications in photo(electro)chemical sensors and photo- and electro-catalysis. She has maintained several collaborations both with academic researchers and industrial partners in Portugal and abroad. Moreover, the recognition by the scientific community is also evident in activities such as reviewing for international scientific journals, work presented as invited lectures, being chair at international conference, being appointment as CQE SUSChem thematic line deputy and as member of the scientific committee of CQE Days 2023 meeting (Portugal), and member of the organising committee of an international Conference to be held in Portugal in May 2024.
