I am a historian with a propensity to philosophical issues, and my research and writing usually switch back and forth between historical theory and history of historical thought. My most important published works include Plural Pasts (Cambridge University Press, 2023) and What is History for? J.G. Droysen and the problem of the justification of historiography (Berghahn Books, 2014, 2016). In the last few years, I have dedicated most of my research time to the issue of historical objectivity\impartiality, a conceptual conundrum that I am addressing from ethical and historical angles in my last essays. I work as associate professor at the University of Brasília, and I have been supervising students whose research projects engage in a wide array of topics in philosophy of history and the history of ideas.
