I am a PhD candidate at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon and the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris. My ongoing project, which began in March 2023, concerns child kingship and royal childhood in the Astur-Leonese monarchy. This project has been awarded a grant by the Centre for Classical Studies of the University of Lisbon, financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology. It is supervised by Professors Rodrigo Furtado (U. Lisbon) and Patrick Henriet (EPHE). I am also a researcher at the Centre for Classical Studies of the University of Lisbon as part of the research group MEDIEVALIA: early medieval Iberian Latin texts. Previously, during my Master’s in History at the University of Lisbon, I worked on Visigothic succession politics. I presented my dissertation titled “Royal Succession in the Visigothic Kingdom: from 418 to the IV Council of Toledo of 633” in October 2022.
