Ana Guinote is a Professor of Social Cognition in Department of Experimental Psychology, Faculty of Brain Sciences, University College London. She has a PhD from the University of Heidelberg, Germany (1995). Her expertise lies on motivation and social cognition in the context of social hierarchies, in particular power hierarchies. She publishes in world leading journals, such as Journal of Experimental Psycholgy: General, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of the USA, and Annual Review of Psychology. Her research has been portrayed in major international media outlets, such as the Wall Street Journal, o Publico, Times of India. Ana Guinote is a Fellow of the Society for Personality and Social Psychology and a Fellow of the American Psychological Society. She served for eight years as a member of the Steering Committee of the European Social Cognition Network, and as UK representative.
