Raul Oliveira is a PhD student, currently enrolled in the Doctoral Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine (PDBEB) by the Institute of Interdisciplinary Research of the University of Coimbra (UC). He has received an FCT PhD studentship to develop his PhD work plan under the supervision of Dr. Ana Luisa Carvalho, at the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC-UC). Raul earned his BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Coimbra, followed by a MSc in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine from the NOVA School of Science and Technology. For his master's thesis, titled "Paracrine Regulation of the Neurogenic Niche by Neural Stem Cells," Raul worked under the guidance of Dr. Susana Solá in the Stem Cell Bioenergetics and Regeneration lab. Raul has published one review paper and is presently interested in exploring the neurobiology of chronic stress through his Ph.D. research project.
