I have 45 published papers on peer review journals, 25 of them in the last five years, 6 of them as first author and two them as corresponding author. In recent years my research focused on the study of the spin crossover (SCO) phenomenon, through the synthesis and characterization of multiple new Fe(III) compounds prone to exhibit SCO as well as on the characterization of samples from multiple origins by Mössbauer spectroscopy. My PhD Thesis entitled Iron(III) Spin Crossover Systems: Towards Switchable Molecular Conductors allowed me to study multiple compounds prone to exhibit SCO transition. This expertise was recognized by the FCT with the attribution of research funds as the Principal Investigator for a scientific project (PTDC/QUI-QIN/32240/2017) for 4 years and with approved funding of ¿239.787,00. Since 2016 I have been responsible for the Mössbauer Spectroscopy Laboratory where I currently accumulate the role of Radiological Protection Officer. During this time I could focus on the magnetic characterization of iron phases in advanced materials through Mössbauer spectroscopy. Martí-Gastaldo, et al. Chem, 6, 3118, 2018). Apart from these published papers the results obtained were also presented in multiple oral and panel communications. During my scientific career I have acquired a large experience in the synthesis of organic and coordination compounds (including air sensitive materials) and on characterization of these compounds. I have also gathered experience in several characterization techniques such as Mössbauer, infra-red and UV-Vis spectroscopy, NMR, Faraday scale, SQUID magnetometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), CHN analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction.
