2000/04/02 - 2000/04/05 The PSE Meeting – Lisbon 2000, Natural products from the plants and marine organisms of the Mediterranean and Atlantic seaboard: isolation, synthesis and industrial applications, was held at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and had 185 participants. The guest of honor was Prof. Jeffrey Harborn, and other well-known phytochemists were awarded, namely Profs. A. Gonzalez, O. Gottlieb, W. Herz and B. Rodriguez. 1995/09/26 - 1995/09/30 The 1st International Meeting of the Portuguese Carbohydrate Chemistry Group (Glupor I) was held at Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian and it was the meeting launching the Carbohydrate Chemistry Group. With 14 plenary and 12 invited lectures, the sessions covered glycosciences with one session dedicated to sugar industry. With international participation of experts from y Portugal, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Sweden, and from USA and Canada, Glupor I was very successful and Glupor series continue up to the present days.
