Farhat-Un-Nisá is an enthusiastic marine biologist who is deeply interested in marine pollution, ecotoxicology, and ocean literacy. She is pursuing her Master's degree in Marine and Coastal Systems in the University of Algarve (Portugal). Her research focuses on evaluating the impacts of multiple stressors on marine biota, linking marine pollution by pharmaceuticals and climate change, and the subsequent impacts regarding drug-contaminated seafood consumption by humans in consonance with the transdisciplinary OneHealth approach. Currently, she works in the DEEP REST project assessing the ecotoxicological impacts of deep-sea mining in marine bivalves through a multiple biomarker approach at the Centre for Marine and Environmental Research (CIMA-UAlg). She is actively involved in different youth ocean-related projects at the Youth4Ocean Forum of the European Commission and her work, within academia and industry, are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Keywords related to her research include marine ecotoxicology, emerging contaminants, human health and ocean literacy.
