Tânia Moreira is a Junior Researcher at the Psychology Research Center at the University of Minho, where she has made significant contributions to Applied Psychology, especially Educational Psychology. After being awarded a Ph.D. grant in 2016, she successfully completed her Ph.D. in Applied Psychology in 2021 at the same institution with a PhD thesis targeting the school engagement processes of Roma communities. Her research provided extensive contributions to the field of learning and motivational processes across diverse populations. Tânia’s research interests focus on learning and motivational processes and academic outcomes of marginalized groups (including people with disabilities, ethnic/racial underrepresented groups, and low-SES people) and the impact of educational trajectories on vocational development in diverse populations, including career paths and psychological factors influencing career paths. A significant portion of her work aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Quality Education (SDG 4) and Reduced Inequalities (SDG 10). Her contributions to the field of Educational Psychology have garnered considerable recognition. With a robust academic record, she has published 22 articles in peer-reviewed journals, garnering 229 Scopus citations (h-index Scopus: 8; h-index WOS: 8; h-index Google Scholar: 10). Moreover, Tânia is leading a research team (REDeEM), co-supervising 4 Ph.D. thesis and 5 MSc dissertation (completed 4 and 1 ongoing), and 2 research assistants. Her dedication to nurturing emerging researchers is further demonstrated by her successful guidance of 4 master’s students who have completed their degrees. In addition to her research and teaching activities, Tânia has a solid international collaborative profile, enabling her to share and exchange knowledge with other researchers and practitioners interested in evidence-based interventions. As a result, 81% of her work is co-authored with researchers from various countries. In September 2022, Tânia was afforded the opportunity to participate in a research stay abroad, enabling her to enhance her skills and competencies while fostering synergies with other research groups through establishing international collaborations and networks. Additionally, Tânia was selected as an outstanding professional affiliated with one of the 8 European Universities that partnered with the International Mentoring Foundation for the Advancement of Higher Education (IMFAHE). This program is designed to facilitate effective networking that promotes global collaborations and knowledge exchange while providing essential tools and insights to excel as a researcher and educator. Tânia Moreira has been part of several projects and authored proposals as a Principal Investigator (PI) and co-PI for national and international funding calls. In addition to her research activities, Tânia has accumulated extensive teaching experience during her nine-year collaboration with the Economics and Management Department at the University of Minho, where her expertise includes both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. More recently, she has also taught in the field of Educational Psychology at the University of Minho and other institutions, such as the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro and the Lusíada University of Porto, covering topics including motivation and instruction, school intervention models, and parenting in education.
