Ana Raquel Nunes completed her MSc Degree on Biomedical Sciences at the University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. She is presently a PhD student in Biomedicine, at Health Sciences Research Center (CICS-UBI), University of Beira Interior, Covilhã, Portugal. Her main research interests focus on extracting phenolic compounds of natural products and evaluate their biological activities, namely those related to the antioxidant, andiabetic and antiinflammatory activity. The present research interests include the impact and mechanism of action of phenolics of by-products of Prunus avium L. (Sweet Cherry) in oxidative stress-related diseases. She develops her research within the CICS-UBI subgroup team NatProMicro - Natural Products & Microbial Research.
