Rita Carvalho Veloso finished her Master's degree in Chemistry at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto in 2015. She has been specialized in the development of nanomaterials and polymers and study their properties for energy efficiency. In 2019, she started working in IFIMUP (in close collaboration with FEUP) to fabricate and optimize the optical properties of nanomaterials for envelope systems. Also in 2019, she was awarded with FCT-funded PhD in Civil Engineering (FEUP, IFIMUP and LNEC) to focus her work on novel nanomaterials with high solar reflectance for energy-efficient envelope systems, mainly for improving the performance of ETICS systems in façades. Her areas of scientific interest are Nanotechnology, Nano and Microfabrication, Materials Engineering and Characterization, Polymers, Solar Reflective Materials, Energy-efficient Buildings, Optical and Thermal Performance of Construction Materials, Radiative Cooling, Energy Harvesting and Storage.
