Dra. Mexitli Sandoval is a researcher at the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon. Her main expertise field is the modeling, simulation, and optimization of Sustainable Energy Systems. She has worked in the area of distributed energy generation, energy efficiency, solar cooling, and thermal energy systems. Similarly, Dra. Sandoval has developed Data Science skills throughout her career. It includes the knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for classification, regression, and clustering of data. Additionally, she has programming skills, mainly in Python and JavaScript. Dra. Sandoval holds a double-degree Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Systems and Ph.D. in Engineering. They are from the Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal and the IMT-Atlantique in France. Likewise, she has an MSc in Energy Engineering from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Plus, a BS in Industrial Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. Recently, she also got a Ph.D. in Energy Innovation and Entrepreneurship from InnoEnergy - European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). Finally, she has collaborated with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a visiting scholar and worked in the industrial sector as a project manager.
