Giulia Clare de Carvalho Andrade Santos completed the Master's in Chemical Engineering in 2023 at the University of Coimbra (Portugal), with a final grade of 19 out of 20. The University awarded her a merit-based scholarship for four years, and she ranked in the annual Top 5% of students three times. She has several years of experience as a researcher, including a CNPq-funded scientific initiation fellowship at PUC-Rio (Brazil) and a research fellowship in the FCT-funded project NANOFIRE (PTDC/ECI-EGC/31850/2017) at CIEPQPF-UC (Portugal). She is currently a researcher at CERES-UC (Portugal) in the project RubLiq, within the grant “Provas de Conceito UC by Santander Universidades 2023”. She is the co-inventor of a published patent (WO2024/018268A1), the first and corresponding author of one accepted book chapter (Springer Nature), and the first author of one conference poster. She has engaged in diverse and fulfilling activities over the years, including an extended summer internship on data science, membership in the student association NEDEQ (UC), tutoring undergraduate courses at PUC-Rio, and volunteering as a professor in the community service project PVC Seja Mais. She works in nanotechnology, particularly aerogel-based delivery systems, and molecular modeling applied to novel materials.
