Alireza Ghayour Najafabadi was born in Isfahan, Iran, in 1996. Alireza's academic journey is distinguished by his commitment to excellence. He earned a Master of Civil Engineering-Structure degree from Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch, Iran, in August 2021, achieving an impressive GPA of 18.84 out of 20, which distinguished him as an exemplary student. Prior to this, he completed his bachelor's degree in civil engineering at the same university from 2014 to 2018, graduating with a GPA of 18.17 out of 20, also as a top-ranked student. Alireza's seamless transition from his bachelor's to master's program, without any study gap, underscores his dedication to academic pursuit. During his master's studies, Alireza conducted innovative research for his thesis under the guidance of Dr. Parham Memarzadeh, focusing on Cellular Solid Shear Walls. His research led to the submission of a journal paper titled "A theoretical prediction for shear capacity of cellular solid shear walls" co-authored with Dr. Flavio Stochino from the University of Cagliari, Italy. In addition to his academic achievements, Alireza actively contributed to the academic community as a teaching assistant during his bachelor's and master's studies. During a 6-month internship period, Alireza served as a civil engineering software operator at Hamid Technical and Engineering Office, Najafabad, Isfahan, during which he actively participated in the design of concrete and steel structures. Following this, he worked as a project cost estimator at Safa Sazeh Espadana Company, Isfahan, for another 6 months. Subsequently, he was a management assistant at the Hadd Technical and Engineering Office from 2019 to 2021. He also participated in Advanced Performance-Based Earthquake Engineering courses (covering Risk and Loss Assessment, Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis, and Seismic Hazard Analysis) at Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori, Pavia, and completed a Python Data Structures course at the University of Michigan (online). Alireza is currently a PhD student at the University of Porto and a researcher for the "R2UTechnologies - modular systems" project, working under the supervision of Prof. José Miguel Castro.
