Marta Alexandra Rodrigues Casanova received her Bachelor degree in (2011) in Biomedical Sciences, at the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Medicine, University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal with a final grade of 14 /20. She proceeds with a Master degree (2015) in Molecular Genetics at School of Sciences, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal that she finished with a final grade of 18/20. In May 2015, she started her PhD with an awarded Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) PhD scholarship (PD/BD/113797/2015) at the 3B¿s Research Group (Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics), of the University of Minho, Headquarters of the European Institute of Excellence on Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine at Avepark, Caldas das Taipas, Guimarães, Portugal, being completed in February 2020 with the maximum grade ("Muito Bom"). She starts to develop research activity (2011) at the Life and Health Sciences Research Institute (ICVS), University of Minho by the BSc Dissertation on ¿Pharmacogenetics in Chemotherapy Response¿, and proceed with a master thesis research at the Departments of Biology and Biological Engineering, University of Minho by the developed of ¿an improved propionibacteria for potential use as a nutraceutical towards the prevention/treatment of colorectal carcinoma¿. As a PhD research work, she developed a project entitled ¿Surface biofunctionalization of polycaprolactone fibrous meshes for skeletal and neural tissue advanced therapies¿. She proceeds as researcher at the 3B¿s Research Group, under the Project ¿Single-step fabrication of biofunctional blood vessel substitutes by using electrospinning technologies and mesenchymal stem cells.¿ (PTDC/BBB-BMD/5468/2014 (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016909)). Last year, she was awarded with a Junior Researcher contract under the project ChimericFibre4Tendon. From all the research activity she authored or co-authored of 9 publications in international peer review journals ( 6 papers published with acumulative impact factor of 38,023 and another 3 submitted papers), 1 provisional patent application, 1 book chapter published in international books with ISBN, as well as other scientific communications in national and international conferences (4 oral presentations and 17 posters).
