My research interests are related to Plants Genetics, Sexual Plant Reproduction and Plant Micropropagation. Plants regulate their reproductive processes splendidly, culminating in the successful seed formation, which is a key event in the life of plants and even in our life. On the other hand, somatic embryogenesis has been crucial for several applications in woody plants, including clonal propagation, synthetic seed production, germplasm conservation and cryopreservation. Understanding the factors regulating plant reproduction and somatic embryogenesis is an essential need to improve agricultural productivity. Therefore, a fine acquaintance of the fundamental molecular processes, finely regulating plant reproduction and somatic embryognesis, will allow increasing crop productivity and high quality seed production, the most important source of food in our planet. I concluded my master's degree in Functional Biology and Plants Biotechnology with the theme "STK target genes crosstalk in Arabidopsis thaliana ovules and seed development" and I am now doing my PhD on "Exploring the rRNA methyltransferases signalling pathway during Solanum betaceum and Arabidopsis thaliana somatic embryogenesis".
