Olga C. Nunes is a PhD in Microbiology from the Faculty of Science and Technology of University of Coimbra and is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto. She is a senior researcher of LEPABE, an R&D Unit classified as ¿Excellent¿ by the Portuguese Science Foundation (FCT). Her research has been focused on Environmental Microbiology, namely on Bioremediation and Microbial Ecology and Biodiversity. Her main interests include studying the effects of anthropization on bacterial communities, as well as assessing the associated impacts and methodologies that allow their mitigation. She is (co)-author of 146 articles in leading international scientific periodicals and 29 book chapters. According to Scopus, has an h index of 46 and more than 8300 citations. She supervised and/or supervises 6 Post-doc Fellows, 13 PhD students and more than 47 Master students. Participates and/or participated as Principal investigator in 11 projects, out of which 6 were funded by FCT, 3 by national and international industries and 2 by international cooperation programs. Participates and/or participated as Researcher in 25 national and international projects, including 3 financed by EU and 3 by COST actions.
