Graduated in Economics at the Azad University of Tehran, Iran in 2011, and completed his Master's in Tourism Economics and Regional Development at the University of Algarve in 2016. Published scientific paper in one of the high impact factor journals Tourism Management Perspectives with the title: Tourism and Conservation: A case in Golestan National Park. In 2019 he presented this work as the author at the 19th International Congress of Conservation Biology, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Siavash Ghoddousi worked on different research projects on human-leopard coexistence at the Georg-August University of Gottingen, Germany. During these projects, he outreached as the corresponding author in 3 peer-reviewed papers and 3 conference papers. Siavash Ghoddousi also joined as a field researcher in an international project in collaboration with Humboldt-University Berlin, Germany, Protected area effectiveness of the Caucasus during socioeconomic and political shocks. Currently, he is studying for his PhD in Tourism at The Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning of the University of Lisbon (IGOT) and he is an integrated researcher at The Research Group on Tourism, Heritage and Space (TERRITUR). In 2020, he participated in The Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme, 250 hours of a professional training program for evolving nature conservation leaders, funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment. In 2023, he was awarded a Rufford foundation grant for conducting his PhD research fieldwork activity in the Brazilian Pantanal.
