My first experience in research dating back to my trainee of degree in biochemist (FCUP, 2001-2005). My work has been focused on the "Study the function of protein phosphatase Sit4 in response to oxidative stress and chronological aging in Saccharomyces cerevisiae". In the end of 2005, I started a research fellowship of 36 months (project FCT/POCI/SAU/MMO/55374/2004), and over this period I developed my master degree in Molecular Medicine and Oncology (FMUP, 2006-2008) with the thesis title "Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis: Studies of cellular localization of CLN6 protein". In 2008, FCT attributes me a doctoral fellowship (FCT/SFRH/BD/41759/2007) and I started my doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS-UP, 2008-2013) with the thesis title "Molecular pathophysiology underlying the neonatal form of Farber disease". In the following two years, I was involved in a FCT project (PTDC/BIA-PLA/2291/2012) titled "Regulation of Glutamine synthetase by Nitric Oxide in Medicago truncatula" as post- doctoral fellow (IBMC). In 2017 to present, I joined the Institute of Biomedicine (iBiMED) of University of Aveiro, as Light Microscopy Facility Manager. Expertise topics: Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Widefield and Laser-Scanning Confocal Microscopy, BioImaging.
