Professor at the University of Beira Interior since 2020, Researcher at iA* - Arts Research Unit and member of the iLab DESSIDE- Design for Sustainability, Social Innovation, and Development since 2024. Director of the master’s degree in Industrial Design. After completing her Architecture degree (1999, FA-UTL), her career began at the company PLURAL, so the Curriculum Vitae reflects an experience in Architecture and Urbanism, which provided the continuous development of work in multidisciplinary teams, composed of landscape architects and engineers responsible for the infrastructures and the prolonged contact with entities, namely municipalities, institutions linked to nature conservation, and the associations within the scope of the public inquiry phases. In 2003, she started to teach at ESART mostly subjects of the degree in Interior Design and Equipment, master in Interior Design and Furniture, and master in Clothing and Textile Design, establishing regular external partnerships. 2004 marks the beginning of the master’s degree in design (FA-UTL, 2007), dedicated to the study of Exhibition Design representative of the avant-garde and, in the case of the PhD in Design (FA-UTL, 2013), integrated into the research project "Arquitecturas de papel" (CIAUD, support from FCT), the theme was the evolution of domestic interior spaces. Since 2017, the research activity has opened to Product Design that was deepened in the scope of the postdoctorate (2021), with a focus on developing a jewelry project and an approach in mutability, versatility, sustainability, and the intersection of 3D printing with traditional techniques. In 2020, the researcher joined FAL-UBI through a public tender, and she taught History of Art and Design and Drawing to the 1st cycle of Fashion Design, Fashion Accessories in the 2nd cycle, and Research Seminars in Fashion Design to the 3rd cycle. She is the scientific advisor of several master's and PhD students in the field of Industrial and Fashion Design. The direction of the master’s degree in industrial design allowed the researcher to rethink the cycle in terms of scientific challenges, partnerships, and areas of future specialization. The teaching of History of Design, Industrial Design 1 and 6, stimulated research in Product Design, and focused on emotional design and strategies for sustainability, namely upcycling, modularity, assembly solutions, acceptance of the imperfection of the raw material and deviations resulting from production, and promotion of repair. The researcher has recently promoted community-oriented initiatives, involving master’s students, and focused on the dialogue between Craft and Design, based on the development of experimental projects that use traditional materials/techniques and possible intersections with technological solutions, a crossing previously addressed in her postdoc. The researcher is a member of the Review Committees of the international journals Convergences - Journal of Research and Arts Education, ESART-IPCB, and RES MOBILIS, University of Oviedo, both indexed in the SCOPUS database. He has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the journal Convergences since 2021. We highlight the participation in Scientific Event Program Committees since 2018, namely the EIMAD – International Meeting of Research in Music, Arts, and Design organized by ESART-IPCB, the International Congress of Fashion and Design—CIMODE, promoted by the Department of Textile Engineering of the University of Minho and AHFE – International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics. Finally, we emphasize her regular participation with her projects in international exhibitions, namely Slovenian Jewelry Week, May 2024; Milano Jewelry Week, October 2022; 1st Lisbon Contemporary Jewellery Biennial, 17-19 September 2021, among others. With international articles published in the scope of History of Design, Drawing, Interior Design, Product Design, and Contemporary Jewellery.
