Tânia Silva, is a researcher at the Center for Translational Health and Medical Biotechnology Research (TBIO), part of the Health Research Network (RISE - Health). She holds a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and a Master's degree in Hygiene and Safety in Organizations from the Porto School of Health. Renowned for her dedication and professionalism, she is driven by a deep passion for fostering healthier and safer environments. Her academic journey has provided her with extensive knowledge and skills, enabling her to make meaningful contributions to the well-being of individuals and organizations alike. Underlining her dedication to advancing the field, Tânia's master's thesis, titled “Towards human-centered design of supermarket checkout counters,” is a testament to her commitment. This expertise positions her as a valuable asset in the design and implementation of effective health and safety strategies. Tânia's active collaboration with researchers is evident in her role as a first author on a published paper and another forthcoming paper in Ergonomics and Anthropometrics and Wellbeing, respectively. These articles underscore her dedication to providing valuable insights and expertise in these specialized fields. In recognition of her academic excellence, Tânia won the Master’s Student of the Year Award. She has also presented a poster on the “Nutritional Status of Portuguese Retail Workers”, further showcasing her involvement and contribution to the academic community. Additionally, she has organized scientific events, such as the TBIO Annual Meeting 2024, fostering collaboration between researchers and industry professionals. Tânia is currently pursuing a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho, with a focus on assessing the occupational risks of bus drivers. Additionally, she has another article forthcoming that examines work-related musculoskeletal disorders and psychosocial risks among bus drivers.
