Nuno Amaro, nasceu em Moura, em 1986. Efetuou a sua formação académica na Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FCT NOVA), tendo concluído o grau de Doutor em Engenharia Eletrotécnica e de Computadores - ramo energia - em 2015. Em 2011 já tinha concluído o Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Eletrotécnica e de Computadores pela mesma instituição, tendo recebido uma distinção por ter sido o aluno com média mais elevada a terminar o curso no ano letivo 2010/2011. Atualmente, é Professor Auxiliar na FCT NOVA, lecionando disciplinas na área de energia (redes elétricas inteligentes, alta tensão, tecnologias de energias renováveis, projeto de instalações solares fotovoltaicas) e membro do Centro de Tecnologia e Sistemas da UNINOVA. Entre 2015 e 2022 foi Gestor de Projeto IDI e Investigador no Centro de Investigação em energia REN - State Grid (R&D NESTER). Tem atualmente 9 publicações em revista com arbitragem cientifica e mais de 20 publicações em conferências com arbitragem cientifica (IEEE, CIGRE). Tem uma importante colaboração em diversos projetos de IDI, maioritariamente financiados por fundos comunitários (H2020, HEU, INTERREG), tendo desenvolvido atividades de investigação e gestão dos mesmos (ex: líder de work-package). Colabora com a Comissão Europeia como avaliador de projetos IDI e realiza atividades de arbitragem cientifica em diversas revistas/conferências da área científica de atuação. Como interesses de investigação, destacam-se: redes elétricas inteligentes; sistemas de energia renovável; armazenamento de energia; alta tensão; flexibilidade em energia; .
